Season/Exhibition Information

Professional Artists in Residence Celebrity Series:

Ballet Gran Folklorico de Mexico--Oct. 6

This acclaimed, 35-member company of virtuoso singers, dancers and musicians rekindles the timeless beauty of Mexico’s colorful folkloric heritage from the pre-Columbian era through the 19th century. Celebrate a glorious riot of rhythm and exuberance in this fast-paced showcase featuring hundreds of the most beautiful costumes ever to grace a stage.

“Vincent”--Nov. 4

A full-length multimedia play by Leonard Nimoy. Vincent Van Gogh’s genius comes to life through actor Jim Jarrett in this play about hope and tragedy, genius and failure. Using projections of the 100 paintings created during the last 70 days before Van Gogh’s death, “Vincent” distills nearly 2,000 letters written to the painter’s brother into an inspiring portrait of two lonely souls striving to find meaning and fulfillment in lives destined for tragedy.

The Forgotten Carols: A Christmas Story

Music narrated & sung by Glenn Yarbrough--Dec. 15

This musical Christmas story is about a nurse who volunteers to care for an elderly patient during the holidays. But this is no ordinary patient: Through story and song, he tries to convince the skeptical nurse he was a witness to the birth of Jesus.

The Gizmo Guys--Jan. 20

Since creating this act in 1987, juggler/comedians Allan Jacobs and Barrett Felker have amused as well as amazed--with artistry and offbeat humor. Combining eye-popping feats with the rubbery physical comedy and verbal repartee that has delighted viewers of HBO, Nickelodeon, TNN and Comedy Central, the Gizmo Guys have appeared in more than 2,000 live performances worldwide.

“Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” by Tennessee Williams, produced by A Noise Within--Feb. 9

With humor and unparalleled insight into the poetry of the human soul, Tennessee Williams’ seductive, timeless masterwork exposes the underpinnings of a Southern family in which gentility and charm often mask malice.

“Jerry’s Girls”--March 10

Musical showstoppers from the pen of Jerry Herman (creator of such musicals as “Mame,” “La Cage aux Folles” and “Hello, Dolly!”) performed by an all-female cast of Broadway performers.

“The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) by Jess Borgeson, Adam Long and Daniel Singer--April 8

London’s longest-running comedy hit playing for more than five years in the West End. Three gifted actors romp through all 37 of the Bard’s plays in just under two hours.

Dale Salwak’s Stars of Magic--April 28

International performers appear in this magic show appropriate for all ages: From Caesar’s Magical Empire in Las Vegas comes the fast-paced, colorful magic of Jonathan Neal & Liane; Great Britain’s Mystina brings musical-magical creations; from Broadway’s Sugar Babies comes magician-comedian Dana Daniels and his parrot sidekick Luigi; and the Wilsons offer original illusions.
