“Mario brings many intangibles to our team,” Sun Coach Scott Skiles said. “He has great leadership, toughness, is a team player and a true professional who has seen it all in this game, including championships.”

The 6-foot-5 Elie has played 10 seasons in the NBA with Golden State, Philadelphia, Portland, Houston and San Antonio. He has averaged 8.5 points and 2.3 assists during his career.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
