The City Council will meet today to consider whether to sell off a 15,000-square-foot parcel at Wilshire and Pomona avenues downtown or to dedicate it for public use. The land, owned by the city Redevelopment Agency, has been considered for use as a public park or a museum dedicated to local guitar maker Leo Fender.

City officials have recommended that the council, acting as the Redevelopment Agency board of directors, transfer ownership of the property to the city for public use.

The meeting begins at 4 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 303 W. Commonwealth Ave.
