Bill Seeks Daytime Ban on Violent TV

From Times Wire Reports

Television shows with graphic bloodshed or gratuitous violence could be banned from daylight viewing under a measure that passed the Senate Commerce Committee. The bill, which limits such programming when children are likely to be watching, comes a week after regulators accused the entertainment industry of marketing violent, adult-rated products to youths. Such “safe harbor” hours normally run from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., although the bill charges the Federal Communications Commission with setting the hours.
