Frazier Mountain 7, Santa Clara 6--Taylor Cline’s diving interception at the Frazier Mountain 38-yard line with 34 seconds to play preserved the Falcons’ nonleague victory at Channel Islands.
Santa Clara (0-3) took a 6-0 lead when Jimmy Griffin tossed an eight-yard touchdown pass to Joel Montoya on the first play of the second quarter, but the point-after kick was blocked.
Frazier Mountain (3-0) took the lead on its next possession when Alex Cook scored on an 11-yard run and Jason Tompkins added the kick.
Griffin completed 11 of 24 for 166 yards with two interceptions. David Ramirez had five catches for 60 yards for Santa Clara.
Donald Pineto rushed for 97 yards in 22 carries for the Saints.
