Sweetwater was Orange County’s one and only musical link to Woodstock--the jazz-rock fusion band opened the legendary three days of peace, love and rock ‘n’ roll in 1969. Unlike most of Woodstock’s famous alums, Sweetwater disappeared off the map just a few years after the festival, but has returned, thanks largely to national exposure it got from VH1’s original movie in 1999 about the group and what happened. Lead singer Nanci Nevins, keyboardist Alex Del Zoppo and bassist/bandleader Fred Herrera--the only surviving members of the original sextet--have reunited and are touring again with some new recruits rounding out the lineup. The band’s show Saturday at the Galaxy in Santa Ana will be recorded and released as the first new Sweetwater album in nearly 30 years.

The story behind Mozart’s Requiem is tangled and poignant: Commissioned by a mysterious stranger on behalf of an anonymous nobleman, the work was quietly finished--some say, botched--by one of Mozart’s students after Mozart’s untimely death. Still, for all the student’s faults, the work has become a perennial favorite. Michael Busch will conduct it as part of Concordia University’s 25th anniversary celebrations. Soloists will include soprano Heidi Kenschaft, mezzo-soprano Susan Ali, tenor Bong-Won Kye and bass Jinyoung Jang. The choruses include the Concordia University Concert Choir and Concordia Lutheran Chorale.

* Mozart’s Requiem, Concordia University, 1530 Concordia West, Irvine. 8 p.m. Also, Sunday, 4 p.m. $12. ($10 for students or seniors.) (949) 854-8002.

Performance artist Ingrid Jejina’s latest work, “Last Bundle/Lost Bundle,” is a scenario Californians can relate to. Jejina has tailored the piece to the state’s reputation for earthquakes, floods and fires. The piece involves one-on-one meetings with locals who brought their most important belongings, as if they were suddenly displaced from their homes and faced the possibility of never returning. The possessions can range from diaries, photo albums or trinkets to loved ones or pets. The fictionalized scenario culminates in a final project on view Saturday that deals with change, memory and reality.

* “Last Bundle/Lost Bundle,” a performance art by Ingrid Jejina, artist-in-residence studio, Cal State Fullerton Grand Central Art Center, 125 N. Broadway, Santa Ana. 7-10 p.m. Free. (714) 567-7234.
