Golden West 6, Fullerton 3--Grant Plumley’s two-run single with two outs and two strikes in the seventh inning drove in the tying and winning runs for Golden West (11-19, 3-13). Joe Burgett added two doubles for the Rustlers and Joe Harkey (4-1) pitched 3 2/3 innings of one-hit relief. Fullerton is 13-16, 6-9.

In Orange Empire Conference softball:

Cypress 9, Saddleback 1 (5, mercy)--Kim Martinez had two hits and three RBIs, Michelle Cross had two hits and two RBIs and Mikki Greenwood (18-7) secured the win for the Chargers (25-13, 12-5). Brook Ireland (0-2) took the loss for Saddleback (12-20, 6-11).

In the Orange Empire Conference men’s tennis tournament:

All-Gaucho final--Saddleback’s doubles team of Arif Hasan and Jon Lippert will face Gaucho teammates David DiMartino and Chris Mark in the championship match today at Orange Coast College. Hasan and Lippert defeated another Gaucho tandem, Chad Widtfeldt and Jason Efstathiou, 6-1, 6-1, to advance and DiMartino and Mark beat a team from Irvine Valley, 7-6, 6-3.

In the quarterfinals of singles play, DiMartino swept, 6-0, 6-2, and will play Irvine Valley’s Ian Flores, who swept, 6-3, 6-2, in one semifinal today. Hassan, who won, 6-4, 3-0 (ret.), will play Lippert, who won, 6-4, 6-4, in the other semifinal.
