Prodigy Concert

Seventeen-year-old soprano Hallie Silverston will perform Tuesday at the University of Judaism. Silverston has been honored by the Los Angeles Music Center Spotlight Awards, the Maryellen Clemens Scholarship at Cal State Northridge and Songfest 2000 Chapman University. Her program will include works by Rossini, Puccini, Donizetti, Menotti and Barber. A selection of Yiddish songs from the Warsaw ghetto also will be included in the program. Theodore Crain will accompany Silverston on the piano. This concert is part of the University’s Young Artist Series.

Choral Concert

The Grove City (Pa.) College Touring Choir will give a concert of sacred music tonight in Tarzana featuring music in styles ranging from traditional to contemporary, including pieces by Bach, Brahms, Holst and Rene Clausen.

Historical Impersonation

Historical impressionist Peter M. Small will portray the late Golda Meir, the former prime minister of Israel, Saturday in Sherman Oaks. Small has performed costumed impersonations of historical figures, including Thomas Jefferson, Harry Truman, Thomas Edison, Moses and Franklin Delano Roosevelt, for about 15 years. He started as a history teacher in Maryland. He has performed at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library, Knott’s Berry Farm, the Huntington Library and Cal State San Bernardino.
