Eric Cole (Antelope Valley-Antelope Valley College) had an RBI single for New Orleans (Astros) and is batting .333 after a 7-3 victory over Salt Lake. . . . Josh Towers (Hueneme, Oxnard College) of Rochester (Orioles) pitched a five-hitter with five hits and two walks with two strikeouts, improving to 2-0 and lowering his ERA to 1.80 with a 4-0 victory over Scranton Wilkes-Barre. . . . Rob Crabtree (CS Northridge) of Fresno (Giants) improved to 2-0 with a 6-4 victory over Edmonton in which he allowed four hits and no runs in 2 2/3 innings of relief. . . . Pat Ahearne (Pepperdine) improved to 1-2 for Calgary (Marlins) with a 10-3 victory over Sacramento. He gave up four hits and one run with one strikeout and one walk in 6 1/3 innings.
