* Re “These Ideas for L.A. Are Keepers,” Commentary, April 17:
I read with great interest the suggestions made by my friend and former mayoral opponent Steve Soboroff and couldn’t agree with him more.
The specific ideas Steve mentioned, from library cards to a deputy mayor for the environment, cultural fairs, making traffic work, focusing on affordable housing, energy conservation, neighborhood parks and mitigating the impacts of the harbor and LAX on our neighborhoods, are all worthy of further pursuit. I pledge to do just that during the course of this campaign and as mayor.
