That’s because the first big outdoor teen pop concert of the season takes place Saturday at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine. Remember the Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz film “The Long, Long Trailer”? More than 75 vintage recreational vehicles--many resembling the one in the 1954 movie--will be on exhibit at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort. The public is invited to tour the vehicles that include a 1936 Airstream Clipper, a 1947 West Craft, a 1953 Silver Streak Clipper and a 1946 Curtis-Wright.

Dozens of emerging artists will be featured at Huntington Beach Art Center’s “Contemporary Art Benefit Auction” this weekend. The artists, who include Stephanie Abrahams, Brian Boyer, Dean DeCocker, Mary Dessert, Jeff Gillette, Jacalyn Lopez Garcia, Christine Nguyen, Steve Schmidt, Danielle Segura, N. Tram and Sergio Vasquez, will be available to talk about their works during a reception. A silent auction will also take place through May 18. A live auction of approximately 50 art works made in media such as photography, painting, drawing, ceramic, fiber and mixed media, will take place May 19; the event will include hors d’oeuvres, live music and a goody bag filled with items donated by local merchants.
