Rickey Has the Records, but Where is the Love?
In 1991, Rickey Henderson stole second base and broke the all-time record for stolen bases. After the steal, he bent down, picked up the base, lifted it over his head, and carried it off the field.
That same day in 1991, Nolan Ryan pitched his seventh no-hitter. When the last out was called, Ryan’s teammates charged the mound. They lifted him high over their heads, and carried him off the field.
