Man Shot to Death in Apartment Courtyard
Los Angeles police were still trying Saturday to piece together events surrounding the shooting death of a 24-year-old man in the courtyard of a Van Nuys apartment building Friday night.
James Richard of Van Nuys was killed at 9:45 p.m. Friday in the 7400 block of Haskell Avenue, police said. He was later pronounced dead at Northridge Hospital Medical Center.
Police say they have had difficulty getting information from witnesses about the unidentified suspect. “So far, they’re not telling us anything,” Van Nuys homicide Det. Al Aldez said.
