Davis Signs Tax Break Package for Farmers

California farmers soon won’t have to pay taxes on farm equipment, diesel fuel and propane under a law signed this week by Gov. Gray Davis.
Davis said the tax break will save the state’s farmers $500 million over the next decade.
“Hopefully, it will help improve the cash flow for tree-fruit growers who are having a hard time this summer,” said one plum grower.
