Twins’ Allen Out for Year
Minnesota Twin right fielder Chad Allen tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee Tuesday night during an extra-inning 8-7 loss to the Cleveland Indians and is out for the season.
Allen was carried from the field on a stretcher after getting a cleat caught in the grass while trying to run down Kenny Lofton’s shot off the wall in the 11th inning.
Allen was put on the 15-day disabled list by the Twins, who recalled outfielder John Barnes from triple-A Edmonton.

Some field-level seats have sold for about $100 above face value on the Mariners’ Web site, the Seattle Times reported. The Mariners say they can block fans living in Seattle from selling their tickets above face value, preventing any conflict with the law.
