Richardson Claims British Senior Title

Kemp Richardson, 55, of Laguna Niguel shot 71-73-73--217 and won the British Senior Amateur Championship last week in Northern Ireland. Richardson, a former USC All-American who qualified for the last three U.S. Senior Open tournaments, finished a stroke ahead of David Carroll and two ahead of defending champion Joel Hirsch.

Sunny Oh of Torrance shot two-over 73 on Tuesday at the University of Michigan Golf Course, winning the girls’ division of the Independent Insurance Agent Junior Classic.

Oh, 18, had a four-day total of 72-71-74-73--290, four strokes better than Erica Blasberg of Corona, who finished second. Angela Won of Irvine (77-71-76-77--301) finished fourth.

In the boys’ division, Joshua Wooding of Riverside shot 70-71-74-73--288 to tie for fourth.
