Takase Makes Match Play at U.S. Amateur

Atsushi Takase, a sophomore at Moorpark College, shot a one-over-par 73 on Tuesday to qualify for match play starting today in the U.S. Amateur Championship at Druid Hills Golf Course in Atlanta.

Takase, who had a two-day total of 141, finished 20th among 312 golfers seeking 64 slots in match play, which will continue through Friday.

Chris Mundorf set a USGA record with a nine-under 63 and earned medalist honors.
