Dream Themes at Dominick’s

Share

Well, well, well, Dominick’s seems to be where it’s at these days. Jon Sidel’s hotty spot keeps attracting all the right life forms--from Brad Pitt to Ewan McGregor, from Moby to Renee Zellweger. Part of the A-list appeal is the theme nights. Tonight through Saturday, it’s “The World Is Your Oyster.” Think raw oysters and expensive champagne.... Speaking of sexy finger foods, scenester chef Monica May (North/Belly) has big plans for her latest dining venture: Cinespace, a bar and restaurant on Hollywood Boulevard where she’ll be the executive chef. Cinespace, scheduled to open around the holidays, will also be a digital movie house, playing cutting-edge films and videos.

Looks like that stretch of Hollywood Boulevard is getting way hot. Other coming attractions in the same block between Ivar Street and Cahuenga Boulevard: the bar Star Shoes; a new comedy club; and possibly a new dance club from the boys behind Garden of Eden....

We hear Tiger Beat, the new Thursday night dance club at Club 7969 in West Hollywood, has all the right stuff. Promoter Jason Lavitt (Club Make-Up/Bang!/Beat It) has the kids going ape for pop, dancing to the likes of Britney Spears, ‘N Sync and Madonna. Get down on it .... In Highland Grounds news, the veteran Hollywood coffeehouse is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Billy Block’s Western Beat on Sept. 6. The monthly singer/songwriter series kicked off a decade ago with an acoustic set by Spinal Tap. Yee haw .... A goth tipster tells me today at noon there’s going to be quite a pilgrimage to Hollywood Forever Cemetery on Santa Monica Boulevard. It’s the 75th anniversary of Rudy Valentino’s death. Things are gonna get freaky.
