Two Kentucky Players Suspended

Kentucky sophomore receiver Brad Pyatt and senior linebacker Jamal White were suspended Tuesday for four games by the NCAA after an investigation into recruiting and academic violations.

The violations stemmed from actions by former recruiting coordinator Claude Bassett. They were discovered and reported to the NCAA by school officials after an internal investigation.

Two days after senior Kyle McCann was selected as Iowa’s starting quarterback, Jon Beutjer, his main competition, quit the team.... Washington freshman receiver Charles Frederick missed his second practice in a row and reportedly has been contemplating quitting the team after an argument with a teammate.... Nebraska quarterback Eric Crouch missed practice because of stomach flu.... Florida State starting fullback Randy Golightly was unable to practice and could miss Saturday’s game against Duke.
