The Orlando Magic put forward Grant Hill on the injured list Friday after he missed five of the team’s last six games because of a sore left foot.

The Magic activated forward Monty Williams, who had been on the injured list since Nov. 9 because of a strained right hamstring.

After signing a seven-year, $93-million contract with Orlando in August 2000, Hill missed all but four games last season before a second operation on his broken left ankle.

Houston Rocket forward Glen Rice will be out at least a month after partially tearing a tendon in his knee, he told a Houston television station.

Rice left Thursday’s game against the Washington Wizards after playing 20 minutes because the pain became intolerable.

Rice said he could be back in four weeks but if there isn’t significant improvement, surgery would be a last resort.

A Wisconsin man filed a lawsuit against NBA Commissioner David Stern, alleging that he stole the idea for the Jr. NBA.

In a complaint filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Milwaukee, Brian Mann said the NBA and one of its teams, the Milwaukee Bucks, last year were given a copy of his business plan for an NBA community program for children.
