Utah Rallies Past Dallas
Karl Malone had 30 points and 10 rebounds and John Stockton had 21 points and 12 assists for the Utah Jazz, which rallied in the fourth quarter to beat the Dallas Mavericks, 107-98, Monday night at Salt Lake City.
Donyell Marshall scored 17 points, including seven in the final three minutes for Utah in a rematch of last season’s first-round playoff series. Malone scored nine points in the final four minutes.
The Mavericks led, 97-89, with 4:53 remaining after Eduardo Najera dunked after a pass from Steve Nash (25 points) to cap a 7-2 run. But that was the last Dallas field goal.
Dirk Nowitzki, in the starting lineup after sitting out Saturday’s loss to Washington, had 27 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Mavericks.
