Mother, Son Arraigned in Tenant’s Arson Death

A mother and son accused of murder in the arson death of one of their tenants were arraigned Friday in Superior Court. Both pleaded not guilty.
Clemetha Marie Dillard, 76, and Anthony Dillard, 51, were charged in the death of Joe Williams, 75, a double amputee who was in their care. His home in the 2400 block of South Cochran Avenue was set ablaze early Nov. 28. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 29. The Dillards are being held without bail.
