2 Drivers Injured in Head-On Collision
Two motorists sustained broken bones and minor injuries during a head-on collision Tuesday in a rural area south of Camarillo, the California Highway Patrol said.
Armidia Chavez, 46, of Port Hueneme lost control of her car about 8 a.m., while trying to pass another vehicle heading north on Lewis Road near Cawelti Road, said Officer Steve Reid.
Chavez did not have enough time to pass the other car on the two-lane road and struck Sako Kalbak, 41, of Camarillo, who was traveling south, Reid said.
Chavez suffered a broken leg and Kalbak a broken foot. They were taken to area hospitals. Kalbak was treated and released and Chavez was expected to be admitted for surgery.
