Mayor Ledford Drops Out of Assembly Race

Palmdale Mayor Jim Ledford has dropped out of the Republican primary race for the 36th Assembly District and has endorsed Assemblyman Phil Wyman (R-Tehachapi), who now represents the 34th District.
Ledford said in a statement that he would help lead Wyman’s campaign. The 36th District has been redrawn to include much of Wyman’s current territory.
The 36th District seat is held by George Runner, a Republican who is being forced out by term limits.
