The three were on the sidewalk in the 3300 block of San Fernando Road around 8:30 p.m. when a vehicle “skidded on a water pocket,” said Sgt. Zimmie Williams. “A witness saw the car barrel into three pedestrians, who were thrown like trash cans they were hit so violently.”

The driver was not arrested, Williams said, because the incident appeared to be accidental.
