Glendale Man Gets 6 Months in Net Sex Case

A Glendale man was sentenced to six months in jail Thursday for attempting to seduce a 13-year-old boy over the Internet, authorities said.

Aldo Jimenez, 19, pleaded no contest in Van Nuys Superior Court to one count of attempting to send harmful matter with intent to seduce a minor, said Sandi Gibbons, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.

Jimenez was arrested Jan. 5 at his Glendale home, authorities said.

Police said a San Fernando Valley mother contacted authorities in September after learning a man had used the Internet to sent sexually explicit photos of himself to her son. The woman, police said, contacted the man and told him to stop. But he continued to send messages to the boy, police said.

LAPD detectives adopted the persona of the boy and continued Internet contact with Jimenez, who sent more explicit photos and asked to meet the boy for sex, police said.
