The bodies of two men and a woman, the apparent victims of a murder-suicide, were found Friday morning in a West Los Angeles apartment, authorities said Friday.

Detectives believe an estranged husband went to the home, found his wife with a man, and killed them and himself, LAPD Officer Don Cox said.

“We are still investigating,” said Capt. Rich Wemmer. “We have multiple witnesses and after we finish talking to them, we will be able to shortly put together a sequence of events.”

He said all three died of gunshot wounds and that a knife was found next to the body of one of the victims. He declined to be more specific.

Authorities said a 911 call was received about 10:30 a.m. Friday and officers from LAPD’s West Los Angeles police station went to the 1100 block of South Wooster Street in the Pico-Robertson area.

Inside the upstairs apartment in a two-story Spanish duplex, officers found the bodies of the woman and two men.

One neighbor described a couple who lived at the home as “very nice people, very helpful and very friendly,” who looked out for others in the neighborhood.

Ethel Mandell, 92, said the couple had a key to her apartment so they could look in on her because of her frail health.

She said she had known the husband, who she said was a stockbroker, for 26 years and that there was never any indication of problems inside the apartment.
