Chapman’s Poutsma Breaks Finger During Practice
Chapman junior Matt Poutsma broke a finger in practice Thursday, raising questions about the starting guard’s ability to play if the Panthers earn a NCAA playoff berth, a school spokesman said.
The Panthers completed their most successful season in 17 years with an 80-61 victory over La Sierra on Tuesday, giving them a 20-5 record. It marks the first time a Chapman team has reached the 20-victory mark since 1983-84.
As an independent, Chapman must hope for an at-large berth to the NCAA Division III playoffs. Berths will be announced Feb. 25.
