Plane Makes Safe Emergency Landing on Golf Course

Bad weather forced a small plane to make an emergency landing Monday on a Santa Clarita golf course, authorities said.

About 5 p.m., witnesses saw a Cessna 150 flying low and circling over Robinson Ranch Golf Course, just south of Antelope Valley Freeway near Sand Canyon Road.

“It landed on the 15th hole of the golf course,” said Lt. Mike Dunkle of the Los Angeles County sheriff’s station in Santa Clarita. No one was hurt.

The pilot, Alejandro Ventura, and his passenger, Dustin Morris, told authorities they had “storm-related problems, problems with visibility,” Dunkle said. The El Cajon men were flying from Yuba City to San Diego.

The plane was left on the golf course overnight, Dunkle said, and will likely be towed away this morning.
