The St. Louis Blues are not playing like the NHL’s second-best team.

Todd Warriner had two goals Tuesday night as the Tampa Bay Lightning ended a seven-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over the Blues at Tampa, Fla.

“I think out of frustration we’re not doing the little things that got us here,” said center Craig Conroy after the Blues lost their third in a row, their longest losing streak of the season. “All those little things just add up. When things aren’t going well, it just snowballs.”

Pavel Kubina scored the decisive goal from the top of the left circle early in the third period. He took a pass from Brian Holzinger, who was coming down the left-wing boards, and one-timed a shot past goaltender Roman Turek.

The Lightning have only four wins in 26 games.

“It feels great. We played a great game,” Kubina said. “I think we were a better team than they were tonight. St. Louis is one of the best teams in the league. I think it can build our confidence.”

Scott Mellanby and Alexander Khavanov scored for the Blues.

Detroit 3, Nashville 3--Slava Kozlov and Steve Yzerman each scored in the third period as the Red Wings rallied for a tie at Nashville.

Nashville goaltender Mike Dunham left the game at 7:20 of the third period after suffering a strained neck. His replacement, Tomas Vokoun, gave up the tying goal to Yzerman at 15:24.

“It’s always hard when you have to go for the last 10 minutes, especially when you don’t play for a month,” said Vokoun, who hadn’t played since Jan. 24.

San Jose 3, Columbus 2--Marco Sturm scored with 42 seconds to play in overtime to give the Sharks a come-from-behind victory at San Jose.

Scott Thornton scored on a power play with less than three minutes to play in regulation to pull the Sharks into a 2-2 tie.
