SEASON AT A GLANCE: Weatherspoon, who has accepted a track scholarship to USC, is one of the region’s most versatile athletes. An All-City and All-Valley selection as a junior, she has been a key contributor for the Lancers (6-7), who are favored to repeat as Sunset Six League champions.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Weatherspoon was selected co-most valuable player of the Thousand Oaks tournament, along with Novey Woodard-Parker of Royal, after averaging 17.8 points in four games. The 5-foot-9 guard scored 16 points to spark a 49-44 quarterfinal upset of Camarillo and scored 30 in a 52-50 loss to Royal in the final.
