Brinson, Tustin Line Up a Win Over Ocean View

Constance Brinson had 24 points to help Tustin to a 55-48 victory over Ocean View in Golden West League girls’ basketball Thursday.

Brinson made 12 of 13 attempts from the free-throw line. Jasmine Hooper scored 15 points for the Tillers (6-10, 1-0).

In another league game:

Westminster 70, Santa Ana 26--Ashley Hebert scored 22 points for Westminster (11-3), which led, 28-5, after the first quarter.

In nonleague girls’ basketball:

Aliso Niguel 70, Western 38--Julia Pederson had 17 points and Allison Habekost had 12 for Aliso Niguel (12-2). Carol Viana scored 13 points and Rosa Barrera had 12 for Western (4-9).

Capistrano Valley Christian 55, Laguna Beach 37--Bethany Thom had 21 points, seven steals and five assists for visiting Capistrano Valley Christian (11-2).

Fountain Valley 64, Fullerton 42--Michelle Graffo and Lulwa Bordcosh scored 12 points each for host Fountain Valley (5-15). Julie Blied had 14 points for Fullerton, which trailed, 26-11, at halftime.

Northwood 38, Orange 27--Holly Miles had 16 points, Aabria Lipscomb had 14 points and 11 rebounds and Elmira Rezaei had eight points and four steals for host Northwood (8-9), which scored just two points in the second quarter.

Michelle Dahilig had 14 points for Orange (3-9).

Savanna 52, Sunny Hills 48--Monica Thomas had 16 points and Jenee McCray had 13 points for host Savanna (6-8). Kristen Fong scored 25 for Sunny Hills.

In nonleague boys’ basketball:

Anaheim 68, St. Margaret’s 40--Manuel Gallardo made four three-pointers and scored 18 points and Brandon Clark also had 18 points for host Anaheim (8-8), which led, 35-15, at halftime.

Paul Janczyk had 16 points for St. Margaret’s (8-7).

Fullerton 56, Westminster 34--Virgil Bobar had 24 points and 15 rebounds to lead Fullerton (13-4). Daniel Fells had nine rebounds and seven assists for the Indians.

Tarbut V’Torah 57, South Bay Lutheran 45--Geoff Keith had 33 points, including five three-pointers, to lead Tarbut V’Torah. Keith also had eight assists. Noam Dashti had 14 points and 16 rebounds for the Lions (11-0).
