Utah State Rolls Past Long Beach
Curtis Bobb scored 16 points and had 16 rebounds to lead Utah State to a 76-60 victory over Long Beach State Thursday night in Logan, Utah.
The victory kept the Aggies (13-3, 3-0 Big West) atop the conference standings.
Long Beach (8-7, 2-1) was led by Travis Reed with 14 points and Ron Johnson with 10.
Utah State led, 35-29, at halftime and began the second half with a 11-2 run, after which it never relinquished a double-digit lead.
Two consecutive slam dunks by Jeremy Vague at the end of fast breaks gave Utah State its biggest lead, 71-48 with 4:47 remaining.
A sticky Aggie defense held Ramel Lloyd, who came into the game as the conference’s leading scorer with 19.3 points per game, to six points.
