Super welterweight Danny Perez of San Diego won a methodical and unanimous 10-round decision over Jose Luis Zaragoza of Veracruz, Mexico, Thursday night before 3,375 at the Arrowhead Pond.

Perez (22-2, 15 knockouts), ranked seventh by the World Boxing Council, was occasionally booed by the antsy crowd, but he stuck to his game plan and wore down Valenzuela with a heavy left jab and fierce right hand.

Late in the 10th round, Perez sent Valenzuela to the canvas with a vicious overhand right. Valenzuela landed hard, but he got to his feet seconds before the final bell sounded.

“I wanted to prove I was more than a third-round fighter,” said Perez, whose North American Boxing Federation title was not on the line. “He wanted to run and I couldn’t really catch him. But it was a good learning experience for me.”

In the semi-main event, super lightweight Mike Anchondo (9-0, nine knockouts) of La Puente stopped journeyman Osvaldo Valenzuela of Santa Rosalia, Mexico, at 2:04 of the second round. Anchondo knocked down Valenzuela in the first round with a combination and he finished him with a left jab.

Middleweight Sergio Mora of Montebello outclassed Charles Blake of Escondido in a battle of unbeaten fighters. Mora (3-0) was too fast and too slick for Blake (5-1), who had a hard time landing any solid punches.

By the fourth round, Blake was completely confused and Mora was playing to the crowd, dancing and landing jabs and overhand rights at will. He won all four rounds on all three cards.

Librado Andrade (7-0, five knockouts) of La Habra gave Allison Englebrecht her first victory as a manager, scoring a knockout 2 minutes 6 seconds into his fight with Sheridan Page (0-5) of Springfield, Mo. Englebrecht, the daughter of Pond promoter Roy Englebrecht, signed Andrade and his brother, Enrique Ornelas, to three-year contracts two weeks ago.
