A fire in the garage of a home destroyed two vehicles and caused nearly $200,000 in damage before firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, authorities said Monday.

The fire in the 100 block of San Miguel Drive in the foothills above the city was first reported about 9:20 p.m. Sunday, said Tracy Valencia, a dispatcher with the Ventura County Fire Department.

Valencia said the blaze was contained to the home’s garage, which included the two vehicles and a home workshop. No one was injured, Valencia said.

The garage is detached from the home, which prevented the fire from spreading, authorities said. Fire investigators have not determined the cause but believe the blaze may have started accidentally.
