He’s Tired of Taking West Coast Offense

The BCS series (Oregon State, Oregon and Washington getting jobbed). Various NCAA tournament basketball seedings the past several years (read: Stanford and UCLA). The NBA regular-season MVP votes cast this past year. Baltimore’s Cal Ripken getting a miraculous chance to start and star in his last All-Star game, while San Diego’s Tony Gwynn in his, never even musters an at-bat. Oh, let’s not forget our Paul Lo Duca’s outstanding first half, to which Bobby Valentine turned a blind eye for an all-star roster spot. Now the U.S. Postal Service is trying to get in on the act and omits Dodger Stadium or the Coliseum, or any park west of St. Louis in its new “Baseball’s Greatest Parks” postage stamp series?

It just reinforces those three sure things in life: Death, taxes, and the dreaded “West Coast Bias.”
