Boy Denies He Sexually Assaulted Girl, 7
A 13-year-old Palmdale boy denied a petition Monday to charges of sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl, the Juvenile Court equivalent of pleading not guilty, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said.
The teenager, whose name was withheld because he is a minor, is charged with one count of sexual penetration by a foreign object, said Sandi Gibbons, spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office.
The girl was allegedly accosted last week while chasing her puppy a block away from her home. She was assaulted in a neighbor’s yard near Avenue R-4 and Palm Vista Avenue sometime between 6 and 8 p.m. She underwent surgery for lacerations she suffered.
The boy was arrested Wednesday and remains in custody. A detention hearing is set for Friday, Gibbons said.
Deputy Dist. Atty. Melissa Decker declined to comment, and the boy’s attorney could not be reached.
