Bears’ Robinson Out Four to Eight Weeks
Chicago Bear receiver Marcus Robinson will be sidelined for four to eight weeks after undergoing back surgery.
Team physicians give Robinson--one of the Bears’ top receivers the last two seasons--a chance to return in time to practice for the regular-season opener Sept. 9 against the Baltimore Ravens.

More than a week into training camp, guard Steve Wisniewski reported to the Oakland Raiders Saturday.
Speculation had swirled around the team’s training camp that the eight-time Pro Bowl selection was calling it quits after 12 years.

New England Patriot linebacker Andy Katzenmoyer walked out of training camp because he was worried about a neck injury.

Deion Sanders, who retired Friday, has to return only $500,000 of his $8-million signing bonus to the Washington Redskins. He will count $5.7 million against the salary cap next year, but his retirement will save Washington $3.5 million this season.

The Cleveland Browns waived veteran running back Errict Rhett. . . . The Minnesota Vikings agreed to terms with first-round draft pick Michael Bennett, a former Wisconsin running back who was the 27th pick in the draft. . . . Receiver Santana Moss, the 16th overall pick from Miami, signed with the New York Jets. . . . The St. Louis Rams signed first-round picks Adam Archuleta, who was a linebacker at Arizona State, and Ryan Pickett, who was a defensive tackle at Ohio State.
