Irish Folk

Fans of Tom and Becky Lowe’s longtime “Folk Music in Ojai” series will know that a June concert installment is a departure from the couple’s normal seasonal programming. Enter the much-lauded Irish folk septet Danu, currently on a North American tour with stops at Lincoln Center in New York and Hollywood Bowl, and many points in between. The Lowes will present the group in concert Friday evening. The youngish band--all members are younger than 30--is a favorite on the European festival circuit and abroad, as evidenced by Dublin’s Irish Music magazine awarding the group the best traditional act of 1999.* Traditional Irish band Danu; Friday, 8 p.m.; St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 409 Topa Topa Drive, Ojai.
