Locksmith Accused of Working Unlicensed
From Times Staff Reports
A Tarzana man was charged Thursday with falsely advertising as a licensed and bonded locksmith, the city attorney’s office said.
Itsik Yass, 34, doing business as Absolute Lock & Safe, faces charges of working as an unlicensed locksmith, false advertising and failing to have a permit to duplicate keys, officials said.
Authorities began investigating Yass after he responded to a call in January from a North Hollywood woman who was locked out of her house, officials said.
Yass will be arraigned July 10.
