Tony Womack’s two-out RBI double drove in the winning run in the 10th inning as the Arizona Diamondbacks held on for a 5-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies at Denver.

The Rockies wasted a 3-2 lead in the eighth but tied it, 4-4, in the ninth on Larry Walker’s home run off Greg Swindell.

Jose Jimenez (3-1) could not preserve the tie, giving up a leadoff single to Reggie Sanders, who went to second on a sacrifice and scored on Womack’s double just inside the third-base line.

Swindell (2-1) got the victory and Bret Prinz pitched the 10th for his seventh save in nine chances. The Rockies left the potential tying run at second base and stranded 11 baserunners in the game.

The Diamondbacks took advantage of two Colorado errors to erase a 3-2 deficit in the eighth.

Mark Grace, hobbled by a bruised knee, broke a 3-3 tie with a pinch-hit RBI single after the Rockies botched a potential double-play that allowed Erubiel Durazo to score the tying run.

Brian Bohanon, unpredictable at Coors Field, held the Diamondbacks to two runs and four hits before leaving with one out in the seventh. He retired 11 of the last 13 he faced and lowered his home earned-run average from 11.20 to 9.62.

The Rockies left four runners at third in the first six innings, but they still led 3-2 after seven.

Todd Helton, who leads the majors with 81 RBIs, hit a run-scoring double off Curt Schilling in the fifth then scored on Todd Walker’s sacrifice fly.
