Volleyball Game Officials Ready to Serve Up Strike

Share

Officials who work volleyball games involving more than 500 high schools in Southern California have voted to strike after rejecting a contract proposal by the Southern Section.

The Southern Section proposed a modest raise for varsity officials but wanted to cut pay for junior varsity matches, according to Tom Fakehany of the Southern California Volleyball Officials Assn.

City Section schools would not be affected by the strike because their officials have reached a separate agreement. Negotiations with the Southern Section officials are continuing.
