In other San Fernando Valley tournament games:

Grant 6, Calabasas 3--Brian Hauser had three hits and two runs batted in, and Chris Penta’s solo home run sparked a five-run fourth inning at Grant.

Larry Brown struck out eight and gave up one earned run for Grant (2-1).

Verdugo Hills 3, Chaminade 1--Wes Tom’s home run and Kevin Brown’s run-scoring grounder in the eighth gave the Dons a victory at Chaminade (1-2).

Verdugo Hills (2-1) got even, 1-1, in the seventh when a run scored as Ray Villasenor hit into a double play.

Cleveland 17, L.A. Baptist 6--Robert Marcial had two doubles, a single and scored four runs as the Cavaliers won at L.A. Baptist.

Steve Boyer hit his second grand slam in three games and Adam McLeod homered in his first varsity at-bat for Cleveland (2-1).

North Hollywood 6, Highland 4--Mike Rodriguez’s sacrifice fly broke a tie in the fifth and Luis Casas was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded as the Huskies (2-1) won at North Hollywood.

North Hollywood had only two hits, but benefited from seven walks and four hit batters.

Kent Wulf and Seth Kay each had two hits for Highland (0-3).

Notre Dame 4, Birmingham 2--Steve Moss hit a two-run single in the second and Ryan Allen hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth for the Knights (1-2) at Notre Dame.

Raul Campos hit a two-run single in the first for Birmingham (0-3).

Harvard-Westlake 6, L.A. Wilson 0--Josh Satin hit two sacrifice flies, and Ryan Kissick and Jeff Wiener combined on an eight-hitter for the Wolverines at Wilson.

Rob Young, Brennan Boesch and Matt Horn doubled for the Wolverines (2-1).

Eagle Rock 11, Montclair Prep 8--Jose Udabe hit a two-run single in the sixth, and Armando Garcia and Germino Real hit back-to-back home runs in the seventh for the Eagles (2-1) at Montclair Prep (1-2).

In the El Segundo tournament:

Agoura 8, Burroughs 2--Jason Lefkowitz had two hits and two RBIs, and Matt Rivkin hit a two-run single during a five-run first inning to lift the Chargers (3-0) in a quarterfinal game at Agoura.

West Torrance 5, Crespi 4--Chris Gallo hit a three-run single to highlight a four-run sixth inning, but the Celts (2-1) lost in a quarterfinal game at West Torrance.

In the Westside tournament:

Chatsworth 6, Santa Monica 3--Joe Guntz pitched a three-hitter, struck out seven and did not allow an earned run for the Chancellors in a Westside tournament game at Santa Monica.

Brian Lee hit a three-run home run to highlight a four-run fourth for Chatsworth (3-0).

In another game:

Buckley 6, Yeshiva 1--Colin Ward-Henninger pitched a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts, and Neil Desai had two hits and stole two bases for the Griffins (2-0) in a Liberty League opener at Buckley.
