Key Players for Teams That Will Play in West Regional at Arrowhead Pond

JUAN DIXON, MARYLAND

The Terrapins’ tournament history indicates they will get bogged down at the Pond, but Dixon might be the Juan to change that. The 6-foot-3, 153-pound guard takes on all comers in fearless drives to the basket, combining that with a deft outside shooting touch to average a team-high 18.4 points.

KENNY BRASWELL, GEORGETOWN

The Hoyas returned as Beasts of the East this season, bumping and grinding to the Pond with Braswell at the point of all disruption. The 6-foot-2 guard averaged three steals to lead a ball-hawking defense that forced 18 turnovers a game. He also can dish it out another way--averaging 6.7 assists.

CASEY JACOBSEN, STANFORD

Jacobsen was a prep scoring sensation at Glendora High, a long three-pointer from the Pond. Speaking of three-pointers, the Cardinal’s 6-foot-6 shooting guard has been making them at a 46.6% clip this season. He also has made 53.6% of his other shots and averages a team-high 18 points.

STEVE LOGAN, CINCINNATI

Logan is the heart and soul of a Bearcat team that clawed its way from the depths of a midseason slump to reach the Sweet 16 at the Pond. The 6-foot guard is a tenacious defender, the team’s leading scorer (17.8 points a game) and almost automatic on free throws (88.1%).
