Slaten Has a Hand in Victory

Doug Slaten, formerly of Pierce College, struck out eight in six innings on Monday and the JetHawks defeated Modesto, 6-2, at The Hangar. Billy Martin and Brian Gordon each had three hits for Lancaster (14-10).

Outfielder Cedrick Harris was promoted from the Lancaster JetHawks to double-A El Paso by the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday. Harris, who batted leadoff for the JetHawks, was hitting .317.

Infielder Tim Olson, who was at extended spring training in Tucson, was called up to Lancaster to fill the roster spot.
