Recycling Center Fire’s Damage Totals $400,000

A fire caused about $400,000 in damage at a Santa Clarita recycling center, fire officials said Saturday.

The blaze at Quality Paper Fiber at Soledad Canyon Road and Oak Avenue began at 8 p.m. Friday and was mostly contained by 10 p.m., the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

More than three acres of paper, cardboard and plastic products were burned. The cause is unknown.
