3 Injured in 6-Car Crash on Ventura Freeway
At least three people were injured Monday night in a six-car accident on the westbound Ventura Freeway that closed all but one lane of traffic.
The accident occurred at 8:49 p.m. near the Van Nuys Boulevard ramp, the California Highway Patrol said.
Two people suffered critical injuries and one was in serious condition, said Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department. Rescue crews were trying to free a fourth person trapped in a car. That person’s condition was unknown.
Authorities, who had not determined the cause of the accident, were still investigating the scene late Monday night.
