Police Find Slain Man in SUV
The body of a 38-year-old Carson man who had been shot was found in the back seat of a sport utility vehicle parked outside a warehouse early Monday.
The victim, whose name was withheld pending notification of relatives, was shot at least twice in the upper body, said Lt. Ray Peavy of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau.
The body was found in a white 1998 Ford Expedition in the driveway of S.L. Fusco Inc., an industrial abrasives warehouse in the 1900 block of East Via Arado in Rancho Dominguez.
Peavy said paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene about 6 a.m. Authorities believe he was shot near the area where he was found, thrown in the back seat and left at S.L. Fusco, he said.
“Evidence indicates he was in the front seat behind the driver’s wheel when he was shot,” he said. “The driver’s side window was shot out. He had been shot through that window.”
