Police Seek Pregnant Inmate Who Escaped
Ventura County authorities continued their search for a pregnant jail inmate who escaped Tuesday when she wiggled out a window while at a prenatal examination.
Rachael Fernandez, 22, of Oxnard, who had been in custody at Ventura County Main Jail on felony drug charges, climbed out of a bathroom window at the Women’s Health Center in Ventura, authorities said. She is eight months pregnant.
The Sheriff’s Department, with the help of Ventura police and California Highway Patrol, was unable to find Fernandez.
