Disaster-Readiness Event Planned

The Orange County chapter of the American Red Cross will host its 17th annual Disaster Preparedness Academy on Wednesday.
The event will feature 25 workshops for schools, colleges, businesses, government officials and health-service professionals.
The workshops are designed to help organizations teach workplace violence prevention, anger management, conflict resolution, personal safety and self-defense.
One of the speakers will be Paul Jacks, deputy director for the disaster assistance division of the state Office of Emergency Services.
The event will be from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Titan Student Union Conference Center at Cal State Fullerton, 800 N. State College Blvd.
